Initially Discovered by mining operations, La Fluorita Dulcita prospect was surveyed in 2011 by Bob Jackson at the request of the land owner. Jackson and a small team conducted small scale blasting to expose vugs, the largest a couple meters wide. Specimens made their debut at the 2013 Tuscon gem show. The site is known for its ox eye habit fluorite, and quartz epimorphs of calcite.
This specimen is a striking example of contrast between purple fluorite and white quartz druze. Numerous intergrown octahedrons of fluorite spatter the surface of the matrix, primarily coated by quartz druze.
